I'm thrilled to share that this week I will begin a 30-45 day passage from Hawaii to Japan.
However, this time, I'll be sailing aboard, Ramona Rae (an Ingrid 38) instead of Wahine (my Gib Sea 402). Currently docked in Yonabaru Okinawa, Wahine awaits my return.
Ramona Rae, is owned and skippered by Tyler Walkey and his partner Julia Sisa. Together, they've poured their hearts into refitting her.
Just six weeks ago, Ramona Rae was still on land, undergoing her final preparations.
Tyler, Julia, and their crew member Brian recently completed a 22 day passage from California to Hawaii aboard Ramona Rae. Their successful journey is a testament to their seamanship and the enduring spirit of adventure that drives them forward. And now, they've graciously invited me to join them for the next leg of their voyage, from Hawaii to Japan.
As members of the Never Too Late Academy, Tyler and Julia embody the ethos of lifelong learning and exploration. Their passion for sailing and their dedication to sharing their adventures with the world are truly inspiring.
You can follow along with our journey by checking our positions using the provided link and by following both our channels and social media accounts. Tyler and Julia share their experiences on Sailing Ramona, while I document my adventures on Pacific Solo.
With an estimated duration of 30-45 days, our voyage from Hawaii to Japan promises to be an unforgettable adventure.
Finally, a dream is being realized!
Pacific Solo is really a misnomer. I have only gotten this far because of the community that has formed around the Pacific Solo idea. I am humbled, not only by the sea but, by the generosity and love of others.
Below are the various ways you can support Pacific Solo, both financially and just good ol' moral support.
